Plumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Ours is vibrant, diverse and inclusive school with over 60 languages spoken across our community. The foundation of our vision and purpose is to offer excellence to all our young people, based on four clear values which underpin all our work - pride, ambition, respect and togetherness. Our recipe for success is based on high quality teaching and academic rigour, blended with the highest expectations, support and guidance. This creates the safe and happy environment which young people need to thrive and flourish.
We are seeking a Learning Mentor to provide complementary academic support and pastoral guidance to students. You will be working closely with our integrated Inclusions and Pastoral teams alongside Curriculum Teams to narrow the gaps in achievement for key cohorts of students by devising, implementing and evaluating specialised programmes of work to encourage and promote students social emotional and behavioural development.
Keeping records of student's development and progress, including monitoring students' behaviour before, during and after intervention to measure the impact of the intervention strategy on progress will be important.
You will train and support other school staff by modelling approaches with a view to staff feeling confident and able to use the approaches of successful learning mentoring.
We can offer you the opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team and good professional development.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
