Job introduction

St Luke's Primary School is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join the inclusion team. Working alongside a team that includes a SENCO, two Assistant SENCOs, another learning mentor and an Attachment Mentor, the successful applicant will have a good understanding of what can prevent a child from achieving their full potential and be able to work creatively with staff to make a difference to young people's lives and overcome these barriers. At St Luke's we place relationships at the centre of what we do and so our learning mentors need to be able to make strong positive relationships with all pupils, parents/carers and staff members.

If you are committed to improving outcomes for young people, have effective communication skills and are able to work independently, in a flexible way, then we would love to hear from you.

About the role

We are a three-form entry Primary school maintained by Brighton and Hove for children aged between 5 - 11 years. There are 630 pupils on roll. The average class size is 30.

We aim to be a very open, welcoming school. Children of all abilities achieve highly in a broad variety of areas and we are very proud of them. We have high expectations of behaviour and the children respond accordingly. Our last Ofsted report in March 2025 judged the school to be outstanding in two areas and good in the other three areas.
