A leading developer of advanced drone technologies is seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join its R&D team in South East England. This full-time role involves designing and optimising electrical systems, overseeing PCB design and firmware development, and integrating avionics with control systems. The successful candidate will lead a small electrical engineering team and ensure the quality of UAV systems. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £80,000 with occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimise electrical power and avionics systems from prototype through to production.
  • Oversee PCB design, testing, and firmware development.
  • Develop and execute bench and integration tests for performance validation.
  • Integrate payloads, sensors, and avionics with autopilot and control systems.
  • Supervise wiring, assembly, and quality assurance of UAV electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with software and mechanical teams for full system integration.
  • Lead and mentor a small electrical engineering team.
