  • Refer and liaise with internal and external support services when necessary.

  • Contribute to college-wide events promoting well-being, British values and safeguarding.
  • Act as the Designated Tutor for Looked-After and International students.
  • Support students to improve attendance, engagement, and conduct.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to share progress and celebrate success.
  • Escalate concerns following college policy when appropriate.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional training and development.
  • Promote college values and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by senior leadership.

Role Overview

As a Lead Tutor – Maths and English, you will support students to achieve their full potential by monitoring academic performance, attendance and well‑being, and providing targeted guidance and support. This involves working with students individually and in groups to build confidence, develop life skills and ensure they progress to the next stage – university, employment or further training.
