A local authority in the United Kingdom seeks a Lead Therapeutic Practitioner to join their MyST community team, providing therapeutic support to vulnerable looked-after children with complex needs. The role involves collaboration across agencies and a commitment to creative practice and high-quality support. Candidates must have experience in therapeutic care and access to a vehicle for work. The position requires flexibility to work out of hours on a rota basis.

We are recruiting a Lead Therapeutic Practitioner for our Blaenau Gwent MyST community team to support our work alongside the Blaenau Gwent Residential Team.
MyST is a therapeutic service for looked‑after children who are at risk of being placed in out‑of‑area residential or institutional care due to their complex emotional and mental health needs. It is a well‑established, experienced and high‑performing multi‑disciplinary team, providing excellent mental health and therapeutic care to some of Blaenau Gwent’s most vulnerable looked‑after children. You will also be a part of our Regional, Gwent‑wide MyST Programme.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre‑employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure with Child and Adult Barred List.
Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
Ability to work out of hours on call on a rota basis is an essential requirement of this role.
