Overview

Bletchley Park School is a 38‑week specialist school providing quality therapeutic care and education for young people with Autism, challenging behaviour, communication difficulties and complex needs. The children and young people that attend range between 7‑19 years.

The Cambian Group is one of the largest providers of specialist behavioural health services for children in the UK and we are looking for Lead Teaching Assistants to join our team.

Hours & Schedule

This role consists of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30‑16:30, term time only.

Responsibilities
  • Working alongside the teacher in planning and preparation of the work to be carried out in class.
  • Providing learning activities for students both on and off site.
  • Providing opportunities for students to make progression with formal learning situations, self‑help skills, life skills and social understanding and assessing their progress on a regular basis.
  • Organising the teaching assistants within class appropriately to ensure a bespoke timetable to meet the needs of each individual in our care.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Passion for working with young people and a genuine concern to improve the quality of life for the young people in our care.
  • Highly motivated, well‑organised, resourceful and flexible with good communication skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs. Preferred experience working with young people on the autistic spectrum.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • The ability to lead and be led.
  • Experience of working with young people with additional needs.
  • Good organisational skills.
