A leading tech company is looking for a Java backend developer to join their team in London. In this role, you will handle microservices and greatly contribute to a scalable platform architecture. You will also coach juniors, fostering a DevOps culture. The position offers the flexibility of remote work and a comprehensive benefits package.
Java development is your bread and butter.
Building microservices is second nature to you.
You’re looking for your next big challenge. You’re hungry for scale, for new technology, to continue evolving as a T-shaped engineer.
This opportunity will see you get hands-on with the latest technologies, working on developing and improving a price comparison website. You’d be faced with unparalleled scale projects in a fast-paced and low-latency environment, which sees thousands of transactions pass through the system every second. You’ll play a key role in developing a fully scalable platform, that can accommodate ever-changing customer demand, using technology such as GCP, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Gitlab.
You’ll have ownership of a core product domain, while also having a say in establishing best practices and key strategies. You will be responsible for leading and coaching the more junior members of the team while championing a ‘DevOps’ culture of automation, CI/CD and a ‘you build it, you run it’ mindset.
As a successful candidate, you will have a proven track record in Java backend development, with a deep understanding of microservice architecture (both development and deployment). You also will have gained technical experience with deploying solutions to Kubernetes in cloud-native environments, as well as experience working with a TDD approach.
You’ll be compensated with the flexibility of working remotely (with the option to work in the London-based office should you wish to), as well as a benefits package that covers personal finance, health, and life assurance.
