Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Remote working with 1 day in every 2 weeks at our Stoke-On-Trent office (5 mins from station).

The SRE Team:

Our site reliability engineers (SREs) ensure high availability, stellar performance, and feature-rich experiences for our users.

About the role:

This is a hands-on role within the Software Engineering team. You will manage the SRE function daily, working closely with the Head of Engineering and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and enhance user experiences.

You will review, lead, and drive our strategy for the maturity, security, performance, and scalability of our software and services across cloud infrastructure. You will have significant autonomy to shape the team's future based on your extensive experience in:

  • Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, Platform Management
  • Development and deployment of APIs in containerized environments such as Kubernetes
  • Implementing and enhancing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders in an agile environment
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring team members
  • Working with AWS services, especially IAM, S3, EKS, Networking
  • Using CloudFormation and CDK
  • Experience with serverless computing
