Job summary

A healthcare recruitment agency is looking for a Lead Pharmacy Technician to manage the Outpatient pharmacy technician teams and dispensary. This role involves training and assessing pharmacy technicians and ensuring high standards of service delivery. Candidates must possess BTEC and NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Pharmacy Services and have at least two years of experience in a hospital setting. Leadership skills and an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician certificate are essential.

Qualifications

  • BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualifications.
  • Qualified individuals prior to June 2009 need a BTEC level 3 National certificate in Pharmacy Services.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospital at band 5 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Outpatient pharmacy technician teams and dispensary.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop technical staff in pharmacy dispensing.

Lead Pharmacy Technician Outpatients Pharmacy B6

The post holder will manage the Outpatient pharmacy technician teams and manage the Outpatient dispensary in conjunction with the Pharmacy Patient Services Manager. The post holder will manage the technical aspects of service provision through leading, directing and coordinating technician teams. To train and assess technical competency of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers working within the area.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, manage and develop technical staff in the delivery of pharmacy dispensing services ensuring that the teams and team members are aware of the expectations of them, actively and effectively contribute to the aims of the service.
  • To proactively develop technicians in line with local, regional and national objectives.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, providing support and guidance to all team members, showing leadership.
  • To work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Manager Patient Services and other pharmacy team leads.
Skills and Qualifications
  • BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent knowledge and competency based qualifications in pharmacy.
  • Or If qualified before June 2009 BTEC level 3 National certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent knowledge based qualification in pharmacy.
  • Two years in hospital at a band 5 or above.
  • Hold an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) certificate.
