Job summary

A prominent healthcare institution is seeking a GPhC registered pharmacist to join its Pharmacy Team. The role involves providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to enhance patient care. We have an exciting opportunity for a GPhC registered pharmacist with broad clinical knowledge and a robust education and training background to join our Pharmacy Team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

To take the lead for and provide high quality specialist clinical pharmacy sevices in order to improve the quality of patient care.

To promote evidence-based, cost-effective prescribing.

To lead the strategic development, delivery and quality assurance of education and training for pharmacy.

Act as non-medical prescribing lead for pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

Proactively advise the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Clinical Servcies and the Director of Pharmacy as necessary, on any local and national issues or legislation relevant to their specialist clinical pharmacy service area, in order to ensure that any implications can be recognised and actioned at an appropriate senior level in the Trust.

To lead and develop the clinical phamacy service in the specialist area in line with departmental and patient needs, in order to ensure the delivery of a high quality, patient centred and effective clinical pharmacy service.

Supports the development of the pharmacy and wider team to build capacity and capability through work-based and inter-professional learning, and the application of learning to practice.

Person Specification
Experience
  • Significant post‑registration experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy
  • Training and/or significant experience in clinical teaching / tutoring, audit, practice research, risk management
  • Experience of supervision and / or management of staff
  • Experience in Trainee Pharmacists training
  • Experience in collaborative working across organisational boundaries
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience in pharmacy technician and support staff training and education
  • Experience from educational sector
Qualifications
Essential
  • MPharm or equivalent
  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Accredited Tutor for Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy practice/diploma course
  • Independent Prescriber (Non‑medical Prescriber) or working towards
Desirable
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Teaching qualification / fellowship of the HE Academy
  • PhD or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Management qualification
  • Royal Pharmaceutical Society accreditation or working towards an advanced practice portfolio.
