We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced nurse, to join our services as Lead Nurse for Acute Medicine at Charing Cross Hospital and be part of the directorate leadership team.

The post holder will be responsible for strategic, clinical, operational and nursing leadership within the directorate, which includes specialist services like In Gastroenterology, Medicine for the Elderly, Respiratory, Dermatology, Diabetes and Endocrinology inpatient wards including general medicine on the Charing Cross site.

This role is key to fostering and developing strong collaborative working relations internally and externally and play a vital role delivering high quality and safe care to all patient groups. The postholder will work with the directorate triumvirate, both the acute and medical teams, allied health professionals and support services to deliver the demands for specialist medicine.

As a senior member of the directorate team, the post holder will work closely together to deliver specialty, divisional and Trust objectives. You will be required to demonstrate that you possess and embrace the values that are the embodiment of our organisation, that you aspire to continue to learn and develop within the role, becoming an expert to ensure we provide the best possible care to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Nurse will provide clinical, operational and managerial leadership, which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses, taking part in Back to Floor Thursday activities to quality assure care delivery at the bedside and improve patient experience.

Locally they will professionally lead innovative, improvement projects, which support the Trust's productivity and performance agenda and improve quality of care and patient outcomes; driving transformation through agreed change models.

The Senior Nurse will work in partnership with the Clinical Director, General Manager, Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing and other colleagues to develop and implement patient pathways for the services, lead and take part in clinical audit and research and support with educational framework and development of staff to deliver the divisional and directorate vision in line with wider organisational strategy.

The appointed person in partnership with their Clinical Director, operational managers, and finance and human resources colleagues will deliver Department plans, which drive efficiency and quality initiatives across the Division. He/she will deputise for the Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing.
