Responsibilities
- Terminate and test all devices with proper wiring configuration to ensure quality performance of the system.
- Ensure prompt completion of all documentation/paperwork accurately and fully on a daily or weekly basis as required (example: Paycom and Concur).
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager on requirements, general status, and delays of jobs daily.
- Work with the Project Manager to oversee the installation of multiple crews to ensure jobs stay on-track and are completed to scheduled deadlines, including labour forecasting and changes in site working hours.
- Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors (i.e. General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Door Furniture, etc.).
- Redline/markup drawings to support closeout documentation.
- Perform all tasks to our standards, ensuring quality installation techniques are practiced.
- Work with the Commissioning Engineer and the Systems Engineers on fault fix to ensure complete system compliance.
- Keep accurate inventory of all parts onsite and to be returned for each project.
- Work with Suppliers to complete “Return Merchandise Authorisation” (RMA) as required for faulty equipment.
- Keep track of all assigned company provided equipment and ensure that all assigned tools are in proper working condition.
- Mentor and train Technicians and Apprentices on Company policies, procedures, systems and installation techniques; confirm techniques are understood and adhered to.
- Work on project pre-builds when required, inspect and verify the quality of builds completed by others, and meet client prior to being dispatched to sites.
- Work in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements, with the safety of self and others in mind at all times.
- Ensure “Personal Protective Equipment” (PPE) is maintained and used in accordance with Company’s Health and Safety Policies for yourself and team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to client’s security requirements.
- Undertake call-out, service calls and routine inspections, including dealing with advanced technical difficulties/problems, in order to resolve faults/queries with systems, identifying and replacing equipment as required.
- Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., FIA, NSI, City & Guilds) desirable.
- CSCS/ECS card preferred.
