Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily workloads for fitters and yard personnel.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to fitters.
• Maintain stock levels and manage supplier relationships.
• Oversee repairs and servicing of all plant machinery.
• Organise delivery and collection of plant and equipment.
• Ensure accurate records of all services, repairs, and inspections.
• Inspect off-hired machinery for customer chargeable damages.
• Uphold strong health & safety standards.
• Mentor and develop trainees, apprentices, and workshop staff.
• Complete monthly asset and fleet reporting.

Skills

Previous experience as a Head Fitter, Lead Fitter, or Supervisor

Strong knowledge of plant machinery

Proficient in MS Office applications

Strong communication skills

Methodical record keeping and compliance

Ability to multitask

Education

LOLER Certification

Testing & Inspection Certification

Level 3 Plant Mechanic Qualification

Forklift Licence

HGV Licence

Counterbalance Forklift (desirable)
