Job description

The Lead Credit Risk Analyst is a key role in the continued development of analytical insights driving the credit risk strategy of our SME portfolio and performance reporting on the whole portfolio of c.£1bn of revenue across a portfolio of c.90,000 sites. The role works closely with our Sales, Collections and Commercial teams to balance credit risks alongside achieving the group’s revenue and bad debt targets. With responsibility for the management of Credit Exposure models, responding to regulatory RFIs, delivery of Credit Performance reports and the creation of datasets to provide insights to senior management. The role is key to the design of UK Credit Policy to cover all customer credit risk decisions

Activities

You'll need extensive experience of SQL for querying and analysing large datasets; experience with Python or R is a plus.

Advanced Excel skills, including expertise in complex formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools.

Experience in assessing operational strategy & portfolio performances against KPIs.

Proficiency with data visualisation, including experience in creating dashboards for use at a senior management level

Experience within a Credit Risk and/or Collections environment.

Knowledge of UK Bureau data.

Candidate Profile

The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Continued development and accountable for models measuring TEGP Credit Risk Exposure.
• Responsible for gathering data required to respond to regulatory RFIs
• Creating new datasets and building analytical views of credit performance to support risk decisioning
• Preparation of reports and insights that will be presented at TEGP Credit Committee and to the wider senior management
• Support the Credit Risk Manager – SME in optimising the decision engine tools and models, providing retrospective performance analysis alongside forecasting the impacts to proposed policy changes
• Become a subject matter expert on the department’s data requirements to liaise with ongoing business change projects
• Explore, cleanse and utilise vast customer datasets to build risk segmentation and mitigation strategies
• Monitor performance of Credit Policy – delivering insights to improve business processes & system controls
• Continually strive to improve the Credit Vetting processes considering accuracy, speed, quality of service and reporting
