Qualifications

  • HCPC-registration with ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • Experience in clinical discussions and patient management decisions.
  • Knowledge of compliance with UKAS standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical advice on biochemical results.
  • Undertake method development using laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in clinical support rota as a duty biochemist.
  • Lead projects in Clinical Biochemistry.

Skills

High level of IT literacy including LIMS
Experience with Automated biochemistry platforms
Knowledge of specialist biochemistry instruments
HPLC / Mass spectrometry experience
Participation on duty biochemist rota

Education

MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent
State registered (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist
Completion of Part 1 FRCPath
