Are you a commercially sharp, hands‑on construction buyer who knows how to lead a team while still rolling up your sleeves?
Do you thrive on negotiation, supplier management, and ensuring every project gets the best materials at the best price?

Our client is a long‑established, highly profitable construction company working across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. With a 20m annual spend, they're looking for a Head Buyer who can lead from the front, drive performance, and elevate procurement standards.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a small buying team
• Manage 20m spend across multi‑site projects
• Negotiate with suppliers on a project‑by‑project basis
• Work closely with Site Agents & Quantity Surveyors
• Ensure best pricing, availability, and lead times on every product
• Maintain accurate supplier data and stock visibility
• Implement purchasing best practice and new processes
• Continue buying yourself while directing the wider team

About You

• Strong construction procurement background
• Experienced team leader who leads by example
• Excellent negotiator and commercially driven
• Skilled with suppliers, QS teams, and operational colleagues
• Confident managing high spend and multiple projects simultaneously
• Organised, proactive, and results‑oriented
