Job description
Purpose

The principal purpose of the role is the responsibility to manage and maintain the BMS systems whilst providing support and advice on technical issues relating to BMS systems at various buildings within Warton and Samlesbury sites. As lead engineer you will have responsibility for managing a team of two engineers within your team.

Dimensions

This role will be based across the Warton and Samlesbury sites and will form part of a wider facilities operations team. It will include interaction with other Mitie disciplines and the customer. A key part of the role will be building a strong working relationship with our customer SME and being our key point of contact for all BMS related issues.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Carry out reactive work and maintenance PPMs on BMS systems.
  • Provide technical service and support on the BMS system for the Mitie Maintenance team across the operation.
  • Produce monthly performance data for inclusion in the monthly report.
  • Diagnosing of electrical and mechanical faults on HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of advanced principals of air conditioning, and heating.
  • Respond and communicate with the customer within a timely manner.
  • Promote the FM team culture by team working with colleagues and subcontractors.
  • To drive reductions in energy cost and therefore reduction in carbon footprint.
  • Provide technical support and service for both the BMS and Energy Management System (EMS).
  • Support all site teams with technical and operational issues with regards to the EMS and the BMS system.
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required due to the nature of the site operations.
  • On occasions you may be required to attend site in emergency situations.
  • To carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested from time-to-time by site management or the Client.
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least three years' experience within a similar role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of BMS systems, Siemens & Schneider.
  • High calibre of HVAC skills and qualifications in Air Conditioning.
  • Facilities or Engineering background experience.
Other factors
  • Successful completion of criminal records check at basic disclosure level is mandatory for this position along with five years uninterrupted references.
