What You’ll Be Doing

Join Camden's dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk-aware approach. You'll engage with senior officers and Members to offer high-quality legal services, with a focus on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, all while managing a personal caseload that includes high-profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem solver as you contribute to Camden's vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.

We are particularly seeking lawyers with knowledge in the following areas:

  • Part 6 and Part 7 Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Homelessness and Allocations law and related s204 Appeals and Judicial review challenges;
  • Anti-social behaviour powers and practice; to include injunctions, PSPOs, CPNs, Closure orders and Possession proceedings;
  • Building Safety Act / Fire Safety Act and other related legislation and requirements in relation to local authority building safety and regulatory compliance.
