Job description
Overview

We are looking for a self-employed experienced volunteer leader to help establish community volunteering, undertaking a range of habitat and access management work in the community owned Heavens Valley. The Heavens Valley CBS is a start-up community ownership organisation, owning 102 acres on the doorstep of Stroud. The site has extensive wildlife habitats, covering 30% limestone grassland, native woodlands, spring-fed streams and mature hedgerows, with 70% improved pasture.

This is a part time short term contract (12 hours per week for 3 months at £25/hr), with plans for longer term employment. This community facing role is about building a regular volunteer base carrying out practical habitat management work, management for nature recovery, maintenance and improvements to site access and accessibility. It involves significant hands-on outdoor physical work. You will organise and lead a weekly practical volunteer work party and set up systems for organising volunteers.
