A leading water company in the UK is looking for a Laboratory Technician Apprentice to undertake hands-on laboratory work while also studying for a Level 3 qualification. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to make a real impact on environmental and social issues and is supported by experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and a passion for science. There is potential for a full-time role at the end of the apprenticeship.
Start Salary: £23,190

This isn’t your typical 9–5. Imagine yourself in a laboratory environment, where you'll be hands‑on with analysing samples and learning a broad range of techniques across both life sciences and chemistry. From day one, you’ll be supported by experienced professionals who’ll guide you through your development. You'll get the chance to cutting edge equipment while also mastering traditional methods, giving you a well‑rounded skill set. As you deepen your understanding of the samples you work with, you'll see firsthand how your contributions impact our operations, our customers, and the environment. You’ll follow water on its journey from source to tap, playing a crucial role in maintaining its safety and quality every step of the way.
When you aren't in the lab, you will be studying at West Suffolk College one day a week, as we are committed to nurturing your talent and helping you reach your full potential.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, this role may require possible shift requirement o f 1 0.5-hour day on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern .

If you are successful, you will be invited to the final stage of the process which will be a face‑to‑face assessment centre on Wednesday 11th February 2026 in Huntingdon.
