Overview

The Role: We currently have a vacancy for an Asphalt Laboratory Technician to join the team at KEE Surfacing on a full-time basis with away work.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform routine sampling and testing of asphalt, PMB, emulsion, aggregate, bitumen and other raw materials to recognised standards in our NATA laboratory.
  • Document test results and calibration data in compliance with NATA standards.
  • The handling and management of chemicals in line with relevant standards.
  • Conduct procedures safely and ensure all equipment is kept in good condition for testing.
  • Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position you will require the following skills/experience:

  • Have an understanding of asphalt/cement of quarries industries.
  • Current and valid Driver's Licence.
  • Willing to travel (away work is required).
  • Have demonstrated knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to achieve strict deadlines.
  • Professional communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (advantageous).
  • Full time position – minimum 80 hours per fortnight with available overtime
