Job description

The Science Technician role ensures compliance with safety regulations, supports the Quality Management System, and performs laboratory testing services for Synergy Health customers.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Quality Representative to ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  • Maintain test equipment and instrumentation in good order and liaise with laboratory management in meeting the test requirements.
  • Carry out specific and general responsibilities in respect of the Quality System.
  • Accurately document and maintain comprehensive records of all quality tests conducted.
  • Uphold relevant quality standards as set out in controlled laboratory and Quality procedures.
  • Perform other related quality duties as assigned.
  • Conduct simple and complex sample preparation techniques and analyse samples using a wide range of spectroscopic and other analytical instrumentation.
  • Receive consumables and distribute them into the designated areas.
  • Support in developing bespoke methodologies to support customer requirements.
  • Conduct internal qualifications and support audit preparation.
  • Work and document analysis under appropriate accreditation.
Qualifications
  • Science qualification in Chemistry or Micro‑biology.
  • 1–3 years laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements pertaining to laboratory operations.
  • Preferable experience in the medical device sector.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Effective use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and statistical data analysis using tools such as MS Excel.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
