Laboratory Operations Technician

Life Sciences | Regulated laboratory production environment

Permanent | Full-time | North East England (site-based)

CY Partners is working exclusively with a growing life sciences manufacturer operating in a highly regulated laboratory environment. This is an opportunity for someone looking to commence their career in a regulated laboratory production environment, with full training provided and clear development potential.

This role would suit a hands‑on, detail‑focused individual who values doing things properly, working to defined processes and contributing as part of a close‑knit team.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a range of laboratory production and quality‑related activities, supporting the manufacture and preparation of specialist biological products. Work is carried out in line with a robust Quality Management System and precision is critical.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Laboratory based production and manufacturing activities
  • Product labelling and preparation
  • Hands on laboratory preparation work requiring high levels of accuracy and consistency (training provided)
  • Incoming quality control of reagents and consumables
  • General laboratory duties including stock management and equipment checks
  • Accurate completion of documentation in line with ISO standard procedures
  • Collaboration with colleagues across production, quality and technical teams
  • All work is performed in accordance with ISO 13485 principles and internal health & safety policies.
About You
  • Degree qualified in a related scientific discipline or similar level experience working in a laboratory or production environment
  • High attention to detail and a right‑first‑time mindset
  • Comfortable following procedures and maintaining accurate records
  • Confident using basic IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • A positive, team‑oriented attitude
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Experience working to ISO or GMP‑style standards
  • Background in regulated manufacturing or laboratory production
  • Full training will be provided, so candidates with the right fundamentals and attitude are strongly encouraged to apply.
Working Pattern & Package
  • Permanent position (Monday–Friday)
  • Onsite working with flexible hours and core availability during the day
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (with a Christmas closure period)
