Overview

Job Description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Compliance Officer to join our Cambridge site. This role is central to maintaining and enhancing quality and regulatory compliance to ISO 17025, RSA, and ISO 9001 standards, with a particular focus on supporting our Microbiology testing activities and ensuring structured compliance within the Contaminants section of the business. We welcome applications from candidates with a laboratory background who have gained some exposure to compliance, quality systems, or auditing and are now looking to take their next step into a dedicated quality role. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support compliance with ISO 17025, RSA, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Investigate laboratory non-conformances and anomalies, implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage calibrations, servicing, and verification of critical laboratory equipment.
  • Oversee and report on internal/external quality assurance and proficiency testing schemes.
  • Conduct internal technical audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support training, documentation management, and method validations.
  • Liaise with external assessment bodies and provide on-site audit support.
Qualifications
  • Good scientific background, ideally with some practical microbiology or laboratory experience.
  • Exposure to quality systems, regulatory compliance, or accredited environments (desirable, not essential).
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and documentation skills.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently under pressure.
  • Keen to develop a career in quality and compliance with full training provided.
