Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples in the laboratory and general housekeeping.

Lab Assistant / Administrator

Lab assistant / Administrator job opportunity for a growing animal feed manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area.

Company

Leading producer of animal feeds which has seen rapid growth in the last few years, now looking to establish itself as a leader in quality within this sector.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Up to £28k dependent on skills and experience.

Job Role

Your time will be split 50:50 across the Office and laboratory functions, providing admin support and customer service along with laboratory sample preparation and general housekeeping.

You Will Be Involved In
  • Entering customer orders into the database and generating batch numbers.
  • Creating and printing order labels.
  • Answering customer queries over the phone or via email.
  • Checking incoming and outgoing lorries for weight using the weighbridge.
  • Sample preparation (including meat products) in the laboratory.
  • General housekeeping of the Laboratory.
  • Longer term – the opportunity to test lab samples.
What Do You Need to Be Considered?
You Will Need
  • Previous customer service and administration experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory would be preferable (but not essential).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to working across office and laboratory environments.
