Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking dependable candidates for a food production role in Ellesmere Port. This position involves various laboratory duties, including stock control, sampling, and data presentation. Candidates should possess strong computer skills, be proactive, and able to follow instructions, with qualifications in health & safety or food science being beneficial. This role offers a competitive wage of £12.60 per hour, with optional overtime on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out assessment of raw materials.
  • Stock control of submitted samples ensuring correct storage.
  • Sampling, preparing & shipping of samples for customer assessment.
  • Logging of submitted samples on QA database.
  • Responsible for laboratory paperwork completion.
  • Cleaning & maintenance of laboratory environment & equipment.
  • Collating data and presenting in graphs, charts & reports.

Skills

Computer literate in email, word & excel
Proactive and able to work without supervision
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Outstanding written/verbal communication
Well organized with good problem-solving abilities
Excellent numeracy skills

Education

General knowledge of Health & Safety
Food Safety in Manufacturing
Food science or Laboratory qualification
Knowledge within a Laboratory & food manufacturing
Knowledge of BRC systems

We are currently looking for hard working dependable candidates to work for our client based in Ellesmere Port. Working in a fast paced food production site. This site is easily accessible by public transport and by car.

We are currently looking for hard working dependable candidates to work for our client based in Ellesmere Port. Working in a fast paced food production site. This site is easily accessible by public transport and by car.

Role details
  • £12.60 per hour
  • 8am till 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am till 2pm Friday
  • Monday to Friday
  • Optional overtime on the weekends
Duties
  • Carry out assessment of raw materials
  • Stock control of submitted samples ensuring correct storage, handling and disposal where necessary
  • Sampling, preparing & shipping of samples for customer assessment
  • Logging of submitted samples on QA database, use of system to retrieve relevant test paperwork and use of ERP system
  • Responsible for the completion of laboratory paperwork
  • Cleaning & maintenance of laboratory environment & equipment
  • Collating data and presenting in graphs, charts & reports.
  • Other duties as required
Skills and experience
  • Computer literate in email, word & excel.
  • Proactive and able to work without supervision as part of a team or independently and to work on your own initiative.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication and good interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, with good problem-solving abilities and able to multitask.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
Education and Qualifications

Although not essential, the successful candidate would ideally have knowledge and/or qualifications in the following areas:

  • General knowledge of Health & Safety and Manual Handling
  • Food Safety in Manufacturing
  • A Food science or Laboratory qualification would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge within a Laboratory & food manufacturing background
  • Knowledge of BRC systems
