Overview

Early Years Practitioner Level 3 (Qualified) — Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire; Contract Type: Permanent (Term-time); Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, term time only; Salary: £25,992–£27,711 FTE (Actual salary £22,352–£24,366)

The School and Role

Join a vibrant and forward-thinking early years team in a Good-rated primary school in Northamptonshire. The setting features three active classrooms and a separate play space tailored for children needing additional support. The environment is well-resourced with a generous garden and expansive playground used throughout the year.

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will serve as a keyworker collaborating with the Early Years Teacher to support child-led and structured learning. You will contribute to planning, deliver creative, playful activities indoors and outdoors, and maintain a secure, welcoming learning environment. Collaboration and flexibility are essential; staff operate in a supportive team that includes peer planning time, training, and a well-being day plus an extra day off when life doesn’t fit into term time.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a keyworker to support child-led and structured learning.

  • Collaborate with team members; participate in peer planning time and training.
Requirements
  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3, or NNEB Certificate.
  • Demonstrated good to outstanding early years practices; organised, self-motivated, and able to foster positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting each child's well-being.
  • Proactive, resilient approach and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
