Overview

Location: Bishop Auckland
Start Date: January
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a lovely, welcoming primary school in Bishop Auckland who are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis starting in January.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate KS1 teacher who is eager to make a positive impact and is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child feels supported, valued and able to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for planning, preparing and delivering engaging and creative KS1 lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan and adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support
  • Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, senior leaders and wider support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
  • Support pupils with a range of needs in a caring and inclusive way
  • Collaborate effectively with therapists and other professionals where appropriate
Qualifications
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Have proven experience teaching Key Stage 1 – essential
  • Have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – desirable
    • Particularly experience with Autism and ADHD
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Have a caring, patient, flexible and proactive approach to teaching
