Knitting Machine Operator

📍 Location: Rochdale

⏰ Hours: 7:30am - 4:10pm Monday - Thursday / 7:30 - 12:30 Friday

💰 Pay: £12.40 per hour

📄 Contract: Temporary ongoing

We are currently seeking a Knitting Machine Operative to join our clients production team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail who enjoys working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate knitting machines to manufacture fabrics in line with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation, identifying defects in fabric and responding promptly to any issues.
  • Detect and repair fabric faults, including threading cotton ends into machines and tying in warp ends when required.
  • Carry out occasional tasks at height, such as accessing elevated machine components for adjustments or maintenance, using provided safety equipment and training.
  • Perform manual handling duties involving weights between 8kg and 14kg, including the movement of yarns, beams, and finished products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and the surrounding work area to support a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Complete basic production documentation, including records of output, downtime, and faults.
  • Participate in training and develop the ability to operate additional machinery within the department to support team flexibility.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
