A local council in Tees Valley is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support the cook in catering tasks for adults with profound learning disabilities. The role involves maintaining food hygiene and cleanliness, assisting with the preparation of food and beverages, and providing flexible support based on service needs. We have an exciting role on offer within our Prevention and Partnership service as a Kitchen Assistant.
Middlesbrough Council’s Social Care Catering team for Adults with Profound Learning Disabilities and Complex needs is looking to recruit an individual to work within.
Applicants should be motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative.
Support the cook and all operational aspects of the catering needs within the Orchard Day service.
Maintain all elements of food hygiene and cleanliness in and around the kitchen.
Assist the cook in the preparation of foods and beverages.
Operate and clean catering equipment, utensils and machinery in accordance with safety instructions.
Undertake the washing up of crockery, cutlery and utensils and cleaning of kitchen and service areas.
Assist in the service and disposal of food including the transporting of meals to tables.
Working flexibly to support the needs of the service.
Please note this is a part time vacancy working 10 hours a week.
