Salary: £12.21 per hour
Working Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week.
Days of Work: Saturday and Sunday.

About the Kitchen Assistant role

Open all year round, as our Kitchen Assistant you play a pivotal role in our Forest Retreat building, the hub of the location. This is our reception, the first port of call for guests checking in on their holiday. It houses a shop, bar, and restaurant. Opening hours are location and season dependant but there are no late openings which allows a better work/life balance. In this role you must deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest enjoys the perfect Forest Feeling experience.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
  • Pot wash and table cleaning in the café
  • Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
  • Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
  • Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
  • Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
  • Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
  • Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
  • Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
  • Providing assistance to Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed

Pay Rates for Aged 16 and 17:

  • 16 years: £7.55 per hour
  • 17 years: £10.00 per hour
