We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant at Kings Norton Hospital, a full-time role working 38 hours per week.

Kings Norton Hospital is a 32-bed purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care unit, providing a secure, safe, gender-specific environment for adults experiencing acute mental health issues. The hospital opened in December 2022.

We specialise in providing intensive, bespoke, and individualised treatment plans, working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers.

What you'll be doing:
  • Work closely with the catering team to ensure high-quality food service for patients, service users, and staff.
  • Prepare and cook food according to planned menus.
  • Prepare staff restaurant and vending areas for service as required.
  • Present and serve staff meals and beverages.
  • Prepare and distribute function and hospitality work across the site.
  • Assist in assembling and distributing patient meals, ensuring food temperatures are monitored and recorded.
  • Operate the dishwashing machine as required.
  • Ensure all kitchen and dining equipment is clean and hygienic.
  • Assist the Chef in preparing for special functions.
  • Follow any special dietary instructions accurately.
