Job description

As a results‑driven Key Account Manager, you will build strong relationships with customers, helping them grow their businesses and positioning Booker as their preferred wholesale catering partner.

You will drive sales and volume growth with both existing and new group customers by identifying opportunities and delivering tailored catering solutions.

There will also be a requirement to manage and lead tender proposals through to submission working in collaboration across internal depts to support completion. By staying attuned to customer feedback, you will ensure their voices are heard across the business, contributing to the continuous improvement of our catering proposition.

Responsibilities
  • Execute strategic sales plans to achieve company targets
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with regular diarised updates
  • Identify opportunities to increase repeat basket spend with existing customers
  • Own the commercial proposition with regular price reviews where applicable
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand group customer base
  • Collaborate effectively with the branch support team to drive customer satisfaction
  • Understand the food service market and engage new customers and increase sustainable market share
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge and understand profitable, sustainable product mixes
  • End to end tender proposals through to submission
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities
  • Provide constructive feedback through appropriate channels
  • Role model the win together behaviours
  • Align sales strategies with business objectives through feedback to the product team
Experience relevant for this job
  • A proven success in business development and B2B sales within group customers
  • Experience in the catering wholesale or hospitality with exposure to tender completion
  • Ability to learn local catering industry and market dynamics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and confidence in using data and tools to inform strategy
  • Enthusiasm for the catering industry and a commitment to excellence
  • Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, with a strong desire to achieve targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members
  • Ability to adapt to varying external and internal stakeholders
