Job description
Overview

The Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line support to users of medical equipment to optimise uptime and maximise system usage.
  • Support maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment.
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long-term operational plan for cost-effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the Care organisations.
  • Work towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, and ensure that systems are available to enable clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices.
Qualifications and experience
  • Ideally, a minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Operations, or Mechatronics engineering, and relevant experience since qualifying in the field of Medical Equipment.
  • Knowledge in the application and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in hospital and community settings; some specific training will be provided.
  • Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills who follow a personnel development program on a reduced grade.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
