Are you looking for a career in Emergency Medicine in a large UK teaching hospital with a Major Trauma Centre?
The Emergency Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is excited to offer opportunities for motivated doctors to join our friendly Emergency Medicine team from 1st April 2026 for 12 months. One post is to cover maternity leave.
You will have the opportunity to work in a forward thinking, dynamic department committed to the Trust's ambition of developing staff and delivering outstanding healthcare outcomes for patients.
Depending on your experience and interview, you may be offered a Junior Fellow role on the Tier 2 (CT1/2) rota or a Tier 3 (CT3) rota which would be considered if you hold MRCEM. We may offer a Senior Fellow at Tier 4 (registrar) if you have the required experience in ED plus MRCEM, taking into consideration your interview. Opportunities exist for T3 clinicians to progress to Tier 4 if full MRCEM is obtained.
Please note you must be available to start on 1st April 2026 to align with our Resident doctor rotation, which includes induction to the Trust and a departmental induction on 2nd April that will be mandatory.
Working in our ED encompasses many management skills such as managing the shop floor, keeping to the four‑hour target and constantly reprioritising tasks.
You will be supported to work through competencies to develop portfolio evidence, meet your set objectives and work under the clinical direction of EM consultants who are present 24/7. All Fellows will have a monthly teaching day along with educational development time reflected on your rota, and you will be allocated an educational and clinical supervisor.
