Job description

We’re looking for a motivated and hands‑on Junior Project Manager to join one of our clients team. This role is ideal for someone transitioning off the tools who wants to develop their leadership, planning, and project delivery skills. You’ll work closely with senior managers to help plan, coordinate, and deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
  • Assist in planning project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing work schedules and coordinating trades or subcontractors.
  • Help monitor daily site progress and flag issues early.
Site & Operational Support
  • Regularly visit project sites to check progress, quality, and compliance.
  • Work with site supervisors and teams to resolve on‑site challenges.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are organised and delivered on time.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and support safe working practices on site.
  • Assist with RAMS preparation, toolbox talks, and compliance checks.
  • Help maintain site documentation and keep accurate records.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a point of contact between site teams, office staff, suppliers, and clients.
  • Support with preparing progress reports and attending client or internal meetings.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally across all levels.
Administration & Reporting
  • Update project trackers, schedules, and documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking, variations, and procurement tasks.
  • Help ensure project paperwork is complete, accurate, and filed properly.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Previous hands‑on experience in a trade or site-based role (e.g., construction, engineering, mechanical, electrical, utilities).
  • Strong understanding of how projects run on‑site.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Basic IT skills (email, Excel, project management tools — training can be provided).
  • A proactive, organised, and dependable work style.
  • Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience supervising small teams or leading tasks.
  • Exposure to reading drawings, scopes of work, or project plans.
  • CSCS card, SMSTS / SSSTS, or other site-related training.
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent)
