Job description

GBR Recruitment are working exclusively with a general building company, recruiting for a Junior Material Planner / Material Planner to ensure that the correct materials are available on site as needed, managing materials inventory, coordinating materials with suppliers & ensuring the supply chain meets construction schedules. This role is vital for keeping building projects on time & within budget.

This is a great opportunity to join a small office team working on various construction projects such as renovations, refurbishments, kitchen & bathroom fit outs, extensions, HMO’s developments, general construction works & more, so no day is the same.

Projects range from £20K - £500K.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP) : Monitoring material demand forecasts, customer orders, create accurate material plans & generate purchase orders.
  • Inventory Management : Maintaining optimal stock levels to avoid both shortages (stockouts) & to avoid overstocking materials, plus other auxiliary items
  • Supplier Coordination : Liaising with suppliers to place orders (building merchants, hardware stores etc.) track shipments, resolve discrepancies or delays

Logistics: Coordinating the supply & delivery of materials, ensuring they arrive at the point of use on time.
