Job Description

We're looking for a dynamic and strategic Junior HR Business Partner to join our team in Stoke on a 12 Months Fixed Term Contract basis. This is a high-impact role where you'll partner with leaders across the business to drive the people agenda, build high-performing teams, and support transformational change.

Responsibilities
  • Builds trusted relationships with leaders across the business areas and within the HR team
  • Coach, advise and consult with departmental and functional Managers - act as a sounding board, and HR Centres of Expertise, to future plan activities, and create strategies to meet required need of a department or the function with support of the AVP, HRBP
  • Provide support in identifying, creating, and driving the people agenda, ensuring HR plans are aligned with business culture
  • Developing talent: Understanding the vision and strategy for talent, be a key partner for leaders and apply influencing skills to drive the talent agenda within the business area
  • Providing expert and pro-active HR advice and guidance to managers/associates on HR matters. Working with managers within a wide range of fields including dealing with complex employee relations casework, performance management, engagement, legal compliance, policies and procedures, absence management, wellness, consultation, diversity, communications, environment and working conditions, duty of care and health and safety
  • Working with the AVP/ HRBP, interpreting policies, procedures and initiative in order to share details within the function in the right way, and to ensure that advice and solutions are provided to fit the needs of the department and/or function
  • Work with Talent Development to support the functions with induction, technical training, management development, coaching, talent planning, succession, career paths, high potential, and leadership development
  • Be an ambassador for our unique off-price culture and develop solid knowledge of TJX business and strategy, ways of working and policies to provide HR advice as needed
Qualifications
  • Proven HR experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally retail or similar.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders up to AVP level.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing complex ER cases and navigating change.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in HR systems (e.g. Workday), Excel, and PowerPoint.
