Job summary

A leading Manufacturing company based in South Co. Down is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to product planning and design. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, 1-2 years of experience, and knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD. This role includes working within a team to solve complex electrical and mechanical issues. A full UK Driver’s License is essential as well.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of heavy steel design work ideally within the handling industry.
  • Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Full UK Driver’s License essential.

Responsibilities

Job Title – Junior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Company:

A leading Manufacturing company based in South Co. Down is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their ever-expanding team.

The successful candidate will be working alongside the wider team developing new innovative products and improving the functionality of existing systems.

Duties Include:

  • Contribute to the planning and design of products across the product lifecycle.
  • Debug complex problems that span across hardware, software, and electrical systems, prioritising tasks effectively to meet agreed-on timelines.
  • Maintain documentation, ensure high standards are met and with pass accreditation.
  • Work within a team environment in order to develop and solve any solutions.
  • Work closely with other teams by defining design requirements and helping identify issues during early design, proof of concept and production stages.
  • Demonstrate working systems through experimental validation to establish their operational limit.
  • Provide all drawings and specifications for the build of the robotic systems.
  • Operate efficiently and effectively with external fabricators in order to receive the correct parts.
  • Ability to work with heavy industrial machinery on a day-to-day basis.

Essential Criteria:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Experience of heavy steel design work ideally within the handling industry.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Solidworks 3D & AutoCAD 2D packages.
  • A strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Experienced with Hydraulic and Electrical systems.
  • Full UK Driver’s License essential.
  • Excellent use of MS Office.
