Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Rotational Junior Clinical Fellow posts at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. These posts are designed for doctors at ST1-3 level and will provide a broad and varied clinical experience in a supportive paediatric environment.

Successful applicants will undertake rotational placements of 3-6 months across a range of specialties, which may include:

  • Paediatric Medicine (including sub‑specialty areas)
  • Paediatric Surgery
  • Paediatric Emergency Medicine

Placements will be tailored to service needs and the experience of the appointees, offering flexibility and breadth in training. The posts would be expected to commence in March 2026.

The responsibilities of this role will vary depending on the specialty placement. Opportunities may include:

  • General Paediatrics – providing care across a wide range of childhood conditions
  • Specialty Paediatrics – experience in areas such as Gastroenterology, Haematology & Oncology, Immunology & Infectious Diseases, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine, or Rheumatology
  • Paediatric Emergency Medicine – delivering acute care in a busy emergency setting
  • Paediatric General Surgery – supporting surgical teams in managing a variety of paediatric cases
  • Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery – assisting in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions in children
