I'm working exclusively with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Stafford that is looking to appoint a Junior Client Manager. This is an ideal role for a recently qualified accountant (ACCA/ICAEW) with experience in practice who is ready to take the next step in their career.

The role offers direct client contact, involvement in tax planning, and progression toward a full Client Manager position. You'll join a supportive, technically strong team that values accuracy, initiative, and long-term development.

The Role

As Junior Client Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, handling day-to-day queries and supporting general tax planning in collaboration with the partners.
  • Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and finalise accounts.
  • Reviewing VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns prepared by in-house teams.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Building the skills and experience necessary to progress into a full Client Manager role.

Requirements

  • ACCA or ICAEW qualified (recently qualified preferred).
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge with a practical and organised approach.
  • Confident communicator with experience dealing directly with clients.
  • Ambitious and proactive, with a clear desire to progress.
