Job Description

As Junior Buyer you will be part of the Supply Chain team supporting the procurement of electronic components, mechanical, and related materials.

Typical activities include:

  • Support sourcing and pricing of electrical and mechanical items to provide best price, to the right specification and time scales.
  • Build good relationships with suppliers to negotiate costs, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Support component availability risks and management plans.
  • Interacting with engineering departments for alternative components identification.
  • Provides inputs into procurement decisions including make/buy, source selection and supplier qualification.
  • Raising of requisitions.
  • Raising Purchase Orders and maintaining accurate records
  • Manage exceptions and expedite PO deliveries.
  • Undertaking supplier ‘due diligence’ and approved vendor listing process.
  • Degree or equivalent education preferred in a relevant subject
  • Purchasing knowledge/experience preferable but not essential - this role may be suitable for a recent Supply Chain/Business Management graduate
  • ERP/MRP experience preferable but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical component procurement desirable
  • Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
Additional Information

This role has a salary of between £28,350 - £31,500 plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 2/3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
