Overview

IT Technical Lead / Level 3 Engineer, c£36k, London (Zone 1), Charity IT.

A wonderful opportunity exists within this expanding charity based in London for an experienced IT Support / Level 3 Technician / Technical Lead to lead their team of staff and volunteers. This is a position that would suit someone who can take full technical responsibility for a wide variety of laptop repair and phone repair, but also manage and train junior technicians and take responsibility for their technical processes. We are looking for someone who is a really skilled and dynamic IT Technician who gets people and charity work. The charity works with Refugees / Asylum seekers and supports their digital inclusion, education and growth in resettling within the UK. In addition to your technical hands-on experience, you will have strong interpersonal and communication abilities as well as patience, empathy and good mentoring / IT training skills. The role is based in Central London (Zone 1) and will include the day to day management of an IT Technician and volunteers, taking responsibility for onboarding new technical volunteers, provide ongoing technical and safeguarding support (including training and resources) to the technicians and lead regular team meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting and constantly improving the charity’s IT refurbishment and repair processes
  • Responsibility for important IT activities such as the sanitisation of IT Assets
  • Train asylum seekers and refugees in L2 laptop repair with the charity’s “Know Your Tech” programme
  • Manage their stock of IT Assets, lead on technical decisions as to which devices the charity repair, sell and give out for free.
About the Role

This role is the most senior IT decision-maker in the organisation, taking responsibility for the teams IT processes and security, managing and overseeing the response to tech issues which arise with distributed devices. You will also design and deliver their technical strategy which generates revenue from paid IT services including refurbished tech sale, IT Repair and IT Asset Disposition.
