Overview

The Role: We are looking for a hands-on, tech-savvy individual to join our refurbishment team. This might be your dream job if you enjoy tinkering with hardware, solving IT puzzles, and making old laptops feel new again.

Responsibilities
  • Hardware Refurbishment: Carry out memory and storage upgrades, replace drives, and work inside the machines.
  • Operating System Installs: Reinstall Windows 10 and 11, format drives, navigate BIOS settings, and install drivers.
  • Quality Assurance & Dispatch Prep: Test thoroughly and be the last line of defence before laptops go out to customers.
  • General Troubleshooting: Diagnose common issues — e.g., boot problems, screen flickering, Wi‑Fi issues — and identify solutions.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience reinstalling operating systems (Windows 10/11), formatting disks, adjusting BIOS settings, and installing drivers.
  • Comfort with dismantling laptops, fitting memory and hard drives, and handling components such as screen and keyboard replacements.
  • Confident in troubleshooting typical IT problems like failed boots, faulty accessories, or misbehaving hardware.
  • Ability to work on your feet all day in a fast paced youthful environment.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Prior experience at a computer repair company or in a similar role.
  • Confident using email and live chat to communicate with customers.
  • Willing to answer the phone and assist customers when needed.
About You

You’re someone who loves gaming, hardware, or fixing machines for fun. You may have repaired friends’ laptops, built your own PC, or enjoy tinkering. Qualifications are not required; curiosity, a good work ethic, and the ability to explain things clearly to non-techie customers are what matter.

Working Hours

8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime available at double time throughout the year. 1 hour lunch break or 30 minutes plus two 15-minute breaks.

20 days + bank holidays (birthday off)
