Overview

We’re looking for a hands‑on IT Engineer to join Cogna and support our rapid expansion.

This role works closely with the Head of IT to maintain and evolve infrastructure, compliance, and security foundations.

The position combines operational IT, automation, and compliance support — ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, variety, and technical problem‑solving in a fast‑moving, high‑trust environment.

Responsibilities
  • User Lifecycle & Access Management: Manage onboarding/off‑boarding, SSO/SCIM provisioning (Okta), and access requests.
  • Device & Asset Management: Own JAMF (or equivalent MDM), maintain device compliance, and manage asset inventory.
  • Security Operations: Implement endpoint protection, respond to alerts, assist with vulnerability scanning and patching.
  • Compliance Support: Gather audit evidence for SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR / Cyber Essentials; run internal control checks.
  • Automation & Scripting: Use Python or Shell to automate repetitive admin and reporting tasks.
  • Vendor & SaaS Management: Manage SaaS tools, renewals, access reviews, and compliance tracking.
  • User Support: Act as first-line support for IT and SaaS issues (hardware, access, setup).
  • Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Platform, and Operations to ensure secure, efficient workflows.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations or systems administration (SaaS/startup experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of endpoint and access management.
  • Proficiency with MacOS administration (JAMF or equivalent MDM).
  • Familiarity with Okta or other SSO/identity systems.
  • Scripting experience.
  • Understanding of IT security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001 etc).
