THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our innovative team at Inzpire LTD.

Leveraging your deep expertise in networking, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams for fault resolution and to support product design, ensuring that solutions meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and security.

As a Level 4 Network Engineer you will be working as part of a small multi-skilled engineering team supporting the delivery of a secure mission critical Communication Information System. You will be based onsite at RAF Leeming Mon‑Fri 8-5 as well as providing out of hours support as part of an on‑call rota.

THE PERSON
Essential
  • Significant hands‑on experience in network engineering, with a focus on large‑scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VoIP) and technologies (e.g. MPLS, VPN, MAN, NSX, MPLS, VPLS, SD WAN).
  • Experience with network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and services (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to share knowledge and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends and technologies.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Highly Desirable
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with network automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
  • Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
  • Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent networking hardware.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and performance management platforms.
  • Solid understanding of network design principles, including redundancy, scalability, and fault tolerance.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience applying ITIL processes and service management principles.

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
