Overview

Serves as an experienced analyst supporting day-to-day investment stewardship operations & technology platforms to enable Vanguard's investment stewardship efforts in proxy voting and engagement.

Vanguard's Investment Stewardship program acts as a voice for our investors to promote strong corporate governance focused on long-term investment returns at the companies in which our funds invest. Our Investment Stewardship program is closely aligned with Vanguard's core purpose "to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success." Investment Stewardship supports this mission by engaging with executive leadership teams and boards of directors of the companies in which the Vanguard-advised funds invest, as well as voting at shareholder meetings to make sure that investors' interests are always a priority.

Responsibilities
  • Supports day-to-day proxy voting operations and technology platforms in order to facilitate voting volumes and ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines.
  • Implements and monitors long term technology and process solutions to advance the impact of Vanguard's corporate governance activities. Troubleshoots issues and maintains stability throughout the proxy voting process. Develops processes and suggests changes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manages the production and creation of documentation in support of internal and external reporting on Vanguard's investment stewardship activities, including fund holdings, proxy voting, and engagement.
  • Maintains investment stewardship dashboards and creates reports to provide visibility into operational effectiveness. Monitors controls on proxy voting and engagement activities and suggests improvements in line with the risk and control environment.
  • Integrates new funds and securities into Vanguard's stewardship operations and technology platforms.
  • Develops and administers communications with internal and external stakeholders and business partners to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Be involved in key decisions on operational processes and as a sole contributor in the team.
  • Mentors and provides feedback to less experienced crew members on Vanguard's Investment Stewardship operations and technology platforms.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven substantial work experience in financial services operations-related roles.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in proxy voting, investment operations, audit, risk or compliance preferred.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with competing needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and demands.
