Job description
About the role

Join the Interventional Radiology nursing team at Colchester General Hospital. The team is small and friendly, consisting of Nurses, Radiographers and Consultant Radiologists.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide high standard care as part of the nursing team and work in a variety of clinical areas including the vascular theatre.
  • Act as a team leader in the absence of a senior member and assist Radiology staff in developing skills and clinical practice.
  • Participate in on‑call service 24/7 once trained – a 1 in 5 rota, with expectation to reach the hospital within 45 minutes of being called.
  • Perform specialised procedures such as scrub and conscious sedation.
  • Engage in cross‑site on‑call service and maintain excellent communication and organisational skills.
Working hours

Core working hours Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00. The position is full time (37.5 h per week), but a minimum of 30 h per week is accepted.

Qualifications & training

Staff with prior relevant experience are welcome, but full training will be provided on the job. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in Interventional Radiology.
