Position: Intervention Teaching Assistant
Pay: £95‑£120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: Bexley, South‑East London

A supportive and forward‑thinking primary school in Bexley, South‑East London, is seeking an experienced Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their staff team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering targeted learning interventions across phonics, reading, literacy, and numeracy to support pupils in closing attainment gaps and boosting confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted phonics, reading, literacy, and numeracy interventions.
  • Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to accelerate progress.
  • Track, monitor, and record pupil outcomes in line with school expectations.
  • Support the class teacher with planning intervention sessions and adapting resources.
  • Use a range of strategies to build confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent progress.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience delivering learning interventions in a UK primary school.
  • Strong knowledge of early literacy and numeracy strategies.
  • Confident delivering phonics (experience with programmes such as RWI, Letters & Sounds, etc. preferred).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Patient, proactive, and committed to pupil progress.
  • Able to build positive working relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate about supporting learning gaps.
  • Possession of QTS awarded by the British Department for Education (sponsorship cannot be offered).
