Interim Team Leader - Waste & Recycling

£218.25 Umbrella Daily Rate

Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Uttlesford District Council in recruiting an Interim Waste & Recycling Team Leader on a full-time, temporary basis with a view to extend.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work on-site 4 days per week.

Role Purpose

To lead and co-ordinate the delivery of an efficient waste and recycling services operating across the district.

To lead staff to deliver the services in a professional, effective, safe manner and support the enhance the local environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead, supervise, organise, support and advise allocated staff to deliver an effective service.
  • To ensure health and safety requirements are always complied with including provision and use of protective clothing and equipment.
  • To work with service coordinators to programme planned work and ad hoc requests, apportion staff, to achieve best productivity and positive outcomes.
  • To carry out site visits and determine staffing requirements and costings for recharged works where necessary.
  • Work with the transport and workshop manager to ensure that all drivers are correctly licensed and assessed.
  • To complete administrative records and maintain files where required.
  • To work as part of the wider Environmental Services team to provide support and cover during annual leave and sick leave etc.

Qualifications/Training/Experience
  • Valid UK driving license (Category B+E entitlement)
  • Significant experience managing waste management operations
  • Experience of leading or supervising others.
  • Experience in the use of IT (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel) as a minimum.
  • IOSH trained or willing to train
